Bulldogs roll past Tougaloo, 15-1

RIDGELAND --- The Holmes Bulldogs improved to 2-1 on the young season after picking up a 15-1 win here Tuesday over Tougaloo. Three players --- Victor Piccone, Joao Victor DeMoraes and Riley Moon --- each had a hat trick in the contest.

Holmes host Northeast Alabama at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The Bulldogs scored first in the match on a goal from Alejandro Robles on a free kick in the third minute. Tougaloo scored their only goal in the match in the 21st minute. Hayden Boykin put the Bulldogs ahead 2-1 for good in the 37th minute. Holmes led 2-1 at halftime.

The Bulldogs then scored 13 goals in the second half including three each from Piccone, DeMoraes and Moon. DeMoraes made it 3-1 in the 49th minute. Robles got his second goal in the 51st minute before Bryan Silva scored to make it 5-1 in teh 54th minute. DeMoraes scored twice in the 65th minute to put Holmes up 7-1 before Silva scored again to make it 8-1 in the 69th minute.

Landon Campbell made it 9-1 in the 70th minute before Piccone scored three straight goals (70th, 71st, 79th) to make it 12-1. Riley Moon then scored three straight goals (85th, 89th, 89th) to make it 15-1. 

DeMoraes and Moises Hernandez each had two assists while Campbell, Tyler Bogard, Brady Peacock, Silva, Piccone and Landon Slaven each had one assist.

Jaydon Smith got the start in goal and had no saves and one goal given up in 45 minutes. Jesus Estrada played the final 45 and had three saves.
