RIDGELAND --- The No. 3 Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs started MACCC play off with a 3-0 win here Tuesday over Itawamba Community College.

Holmes travels to Meridian on Friday at 5 p.m. in MACCC play.

The Lady Bulldogs got on the scoreboard in the first half when Tyler Grace Sims scored on a Mallory Sutton assist in the 29th minute. The Lady Bulldogs scored again in the 39th minute when Raven Pernell scored on an assist from Jesica Adamson. Holmes led 2-0 at halftime.

Maddie Caldwell scored on a penalty kick in the 60th minute for the last goal of the match.

Aly Vancor got the start in goal and had two saves in 45 minutes. Lilly Callum played the final 45 and had one save.
