GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs fell in the season finale here tonight to the East Mississippi Community College Lady Lions, 68-54.
Holmes finished the regular season with a 6-8 MACCC North Division record and 6-9 overall. Holmes will participate in the Region XXIII Tournament in the coming weeks. No date has been set.
East Mississippi led 19-13 after one period of play and 34-24 at halftime. East outscored Holmes in the third to go up 55-39 after three periods and then Holmes took the fourth period, 15-13.
Gabrielle Bunch led the Lady Bulldogs with 19 points while Morgan Williams had 11. Jalaceia Smith led the Lady Bulldogs with seven rebounds.
Holmes shot 33.3 percent from the floor (18-of-54), 42.9 percent from the three-point line (6-of-14) and 80 percent from the free throw line (12-of-15).
