GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs improved to 3-1 on the season here Monday night with a 70-61 win over the Mississippi Delta Community College Lady Trojans.
Holmes will face Northwest on Thursday in Senatobia at 6 p.m.
Holmes led 18-12 at the end of the first period and 35-29 at halftime. The Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Trojans 19-12 in the third to go up 54-41 after three. Mississippi Delta took the fourth period, 20-16, but it wasn't enough as Holmes pulled out the nine-point win.
Sophomore Morgan Williams led the Lady Bulldogs with 21 points while Jalaceia Smith had 14. Jamaya Redd finished the game with 12 rebounds with four points.
On Friday in Baton Rouge, the Lady Bulldogs fell 71-58 versus Baton Rouge. Gabrielle Bunch led the Lady Bulldogs with 15 points while Manning had 12 and Smith had 10.
On Monday, Jan. 25 in Clarksdale, the Lady Bulldogs won 60-58. Manning finished with 14 points while Bunch had 12. Zaniyah Bogan finished with eight rebounds while Williams had seven.
