Bulldogs get big road win at Northeast, 41-7

BOONEVILLE --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs rolled here Thursday night with a 41-7 MACCC win over the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers.

The Bulldogs scored the only points in the first quarter when Chase Richardson scored from 13 yards out. Dan Lindsay's extra point was no good, and Holmes led 6-0 with 10:16 left in the quarter.

Holmes made it 13-0 in the second quarter when Richardson found Tristin Purnell in the endzone for the five-yard score. Lindsay's kick was good with 9:37 left before halftime.

The Tigers' only score came with 3:26 left before halftime when they scored on a rushing touchdown. The extra point was good, and Holmes led 13-7 at halftime.

Holmes scored in the third quarter with 10:13 left Richardson found Rayshawn Hardy from six yards out. Lindsay's extra point was good, and Holmes led 20-7.

Dandreyus Giles picked up his third interception return for a touchdown on the season later in the third when he took it in from 23 yards out. Lindsay's kick was good, and Holmes led 27-7 with 1:42 left in the third.

Hardy got his second touchdown of the night when he carried it in from two yards out. Lindsay's kick made it 34-7 with 13:13 left in the game.

Easton Sartin ended Holmes' scoring late in the fourth when he plowed in from one yard out. Lindsay's kick was good with 1:21 to play.

Richardson finished 27-of-35 for 201 yards and two touchdowns and had one rushing touchdown.

Jalon Townes and Kabron Purifoy each had seven tackles in the game. Purifoy ended up with two sacks while Townes added one.
