McKinney named MACCC Offensive Player of the Week

RIDGELAND --- Holmes Community College sophomore forward Callie McKinney of Flowood has been named the MACCC Offensive Player of the Week for women's soccer after her play last weekend in the Region 23/Gulf South District Tournament at Jones College.

McKinney and the Lady Bulldogs defeated Pearl River on Friday and won on penalty kicks on Sunday against Northwest to claim the title. The Lady Bulldogs will be traveling to Tucson, Ariz. this coming weekend to begin play in the NJCAA Division II Women's Tournament.

She had nine shots, five shots on goal and two goals, one in the Pearl River game and one in the Northwest game.

She'll be considered for the NJCAA National Player of the Week award on Wednesday.
