Lady Bulldogs place five on All-MACCC North Team

RIDGELAND --- The Holmes Community College women's soccer team had five players --- Olivia Deslatte, Savannah Turner, Ravynne Wilson, Layken Stockstill and Jaelyn Hanson --- make the 2021 Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference All-North Team.

The Lady Bulldogs played this past weekend in the 2021 MACCC/Region 23 Tournament as the MACCC North Division champion. Holmes defeated South No. 2 seed Pearl River, 2-1 in OT, on Saturday but lost a heartbreaker to the South No. 1 seed Jones yesterday in the final. Holmes, 13-2-2, is waiting to hear if they will appear in their second straight NJCAA Division II Women's National Tournament Nov. 15-20.

Deslatte, a sophomore midfielder from Madison, was named to the First Team. At this point, she has two goals and two assists for the Lady Bulldogs.

Turner, a sophomore midfielder from Madison, was named to the First Team. At this point, she has two goals and three assists for the Lady Bulldogs.

Wilson, a sophomore forward from Meridian, was named to the First Team. At this point, she has 14 goals and seven assists for the Lady Bulldogs.

Stockstill, a sophomore goalkeeper from Vicksburg, was named to the Second Team. She has 1019 minutes in goal with 37 saves and has given up 12 goals to this point.

Hanson, a freshman from Brandon, was named to the Second Team. She has eight goals and one assist on the season.
