Wilson hat trick lifts No. 4 Holmes over EC capturing sixth straight North Division titles

RIDGELAND --- Holmes Community College sophomore forward Ravynne Wilson had herself a day here Friday vs. East Central recording a hat trick and helping the No. 4 Lady Bulldogs capture their sixth straight North Division Championship.

With the win on Sophomore Day, the Lady Bulldogs improved to 12-1-1 overall and 6-0-1 in the North. Holmes will end the regular season on Tuesday at Northwest at 1 p.m. By winning the North Division, the Lady Bulldogs will host the MACCC/Region XXIII Tournament on Nov. 6-7. More tournament details will be available in the coming days.

East Central took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute on a penalty kick after the Lady Bulldogs were called for a hand-ball inside the box.

Wilson got her scoring started off in the 28th minute on an assist from Callie McKinney.  The match was tied at one at halftime.

The Lady Bulldogs then took the lead for good in the 80th minute when Wilson scored on an assist from Katelin Johnson. She added her final goal in the 89th minute on an assist from Savannah Turner.

Layken Stockstill picked up the win in goal. She had three saves and gave up one goal.
