Six Lady Bulldogs named to All-MACCC Team

Six members of the Holmes Community College Lady Bulldog soccer team have been named to the All-Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference team.

Holmes captured the North Division title for the fifth consecutive time. They were the MACCC, NJCAA Region XXIII and NJCAA South District Champions and finished as the NJCAA DII Women's Soccer National Runner-up after last week's national tournament in Evans, Ga.

Included on the team are: Laniee Chandler, Mia Aviles, Laney Smith, Kaci Craft, Carly Williams and Savannah Turner. Chandler, Aviles, Smith and Craft were named All-MACCC First Team and Williams and Turner were named All-MACCC Second Team.

Chandler is a sophomore from Southaven, Aviles is a freshman from Collinsville, Smith is a sophomore from Vicksburg, Craft is a freshman from Clinton, Williams is a sophomore from Flowood and Turner is a freshman from Madison.

On the season, Craft finished with six goals and three assists while Smith had five goals and three assists, Aviles had one goal and one assist, Turner had six assists and Chandler had one assist. Williams finished with 955 minutes in net and had 34 saves.

The Holmes coaching staff was named Coaching Staff of the Year by the MACCC.
