Holmes will face Heartland, Ill. in the NJCAA Tournament semifinals

EVANS, Ga. --- The No. 2 seeded Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs will take on the No. 4 seeded Heartland, Ill. Hawks at 11:30 a.m. eastern/10:30 a.m. central here Tuesday in the NJCAA Division II Women's Soccer National Tournament semifinals.

Holmes comes into the semifinals with a 14-0-1 record while Heartland is 11-0. Holmes defeated Allen County, 2-1, and St. Louis, 4-0, in pool play while Heartland defeated Northeast and Howard with 2-0 scores in their pool play.

Against Allen, Cariel Ellis had one goal and one assist while Laney Smith added one goal and Mia Aviles had an assist. In the match versus St. Louis, Ellis had two goals while Jordan Patrick and Ravynne Wilson added the other goals. Wilson, Kaci Craft, Mackenzie Thompson and Olivia Deslatte had assists in the match.

In Heartland's match vs. Northeast, Lucia Cuadra had two unassisted goals in the match. Versus Howard, Lexi Aranda had two goals on two assists from Cuadra.

Leading goal scorers for the Lady Bulldogs include: Ellis, 14 goals and eight assists; Wilson, 14 goals and three assists; Craft, six goals and three assists; Megan Richardson and Laney Smith, five goals and three assists; and Olivia Deslatte, four goals and six assists.

For Heartland, Cuadra has 24 goals and 16 assists while Irene Robles has 10 goals and 13 assists and Alicia Martinez has six goals and three assists.
