GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs held on for a 60-59 win here Wednesday night over Baton Rouge Community College. Zion Harvey hit two free throws with 48 seconds left to propel the Lady Bulldogs to victory.
Holmes improves to 5-2 overall and will travel to Hinds on Friday at 3 p.m.
Baton Rouge led 17-13 after one period before the Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Bears, 20-11, to lead 33-28 at halftime. Baton Rouge outscored Holmes 31-27 in the second half but it wasn't enough as they missed a shot at the buzzer.
Zion Harvey led the Lady Bulldogs with 18 points while Stella Havard had 12 and Lakayla Lewis had 11. Kiara Shely led the Lady Bulldogs with eight rebounds.
