Lady Bulldogs take two from Delta, 9-1 and 7-4
GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs took two MACCC games here Tuesday from Mississippi Delta Community College 9-1 and 7-4.
Holmes will travel to Meridian on Saturday at 12/2 p.m.
In game one, Josie Azlin got the start and picked up the win for her third no-hitter of the season. She went five innings with three strikeouts and five walks. Miley Billie led with three hits including three doubles while Allie Henderson had two hits with two doubles.
In game two, Avery Smith got the start and picked up the win. Hayley Pascal and Presley Scarbrough also pitched in the game. Kamiyah Stephens and Billie each had two hits with Stephens adding a three-run HR and Billie adding a triple. Henderson added a three-run homerun.
Against East Central on April 3, the Lady Bulldogs fell 9-0 and won 8-7.
In game one, Azlin got the start and took the loss. Pascal pitched in the game. Lauren Frazier had a double.
In game two, Smith got the start. Scarbrough and Mauhree Jones also pitched in the game with Jones picking up the win. Stephens led with two hits with a double. Jones added a double.
Against Baton Rouge on March 31, the Lady Bulldogs won 8-0 and fell 4-2.
In game one, Azlin picked up the win. She went five innings and gave up one hit with three strikeouts and two walks. Billie led with three hits with a triple and double. Lennie Kate Wood had two hits.
In game two, Smith got the start and suffered the loss. Pascal also pitched in the game. Carothers had a two-run homerun while Emma Fabre had a double.
Against Jones on March 28, the Lady Bulldogs fell 14-0 and 8-0.
Scarbrough got the start and suffered the loss in game one. Pascal also pitched in the game.
In game two, Azlin got the start and suffered the loss. Smith also pitched in the game. Stephens had a double.
