Holmes falls to Southwest, 3-0 and 5-4

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs fell twice here Saturday to the Southwest Mississippi Community College Lady Bears, 3-0 and 5-4.

Holmes travels to Northeast on Tuesday for a 2/4 p.m. doubleheader.

In game one, Presley Scarbrough got the start and suffered the loss. McKenzie Blue and Lennie Kate Wood each had a hit.

In game two, Josie Azlin got the start and went six innings suffering the loss. Scarbrough pitched one inning. Tashika Carothers and Lauren Frazier each added a double.

Against Coahoma on Wednesday, the Lady Bulldogs won 13-5 in six innings and 13-0 in five innings.

In game one, Avery Smith got the start and went 3 2/3 innings and picked up the win. Scarbrough picked up a save in 2 1/3 innings. Megan Brewer and Allie Henderson each had two hits with Henderson adding a triple and a double. Karly Garner added a triple while Carothers and Miley Billie each added a double.

In game two, Josie Azlin got the start and pitched a no-hitter in five innings of work. Blue led with four hits including two doubles. Kamiyah Stephens and Carothers each had three hits with Stephens added a triple and a double while Carothers had two doubles. Billie added a double.
