Lady Bulldogs split with Lady Indians in Fulton

FULTON --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs picked up a split here Wednesday with the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians falling 9-8 and winning 7-2 in MACCC action.

Holmes will play Meridian on Saturday at 2 p.m. in a MACCC doubleheader.

In game one, Elleigh Willis went six innings and gave nine runs on nine hits with one strikeout. Maycee Knight led with three hits while Lanie Phillips, Iris Farve, AnnaLeigh Jones, Neera Bell and McKayla Crowley each had two hits. Phillips had two doubles while Knight, Farve and Bell each had one.

In game two, Emmagail Kelley picked up the win. She went seven innings and gave up two runs on seven hits. Bell led with three hits while Jones, Leah Kinard and Crowley each had two hits. Jones had a homerun while Farve had a double and Crowley had a triple.

On Monday vs. Jones, the Lady Bulldogs fell 9-3 and 9-4 in the MACCC openers.

In game one, Bell took the loss. Kasandra Gaona also pitched in the game. Knight led with two hits and added a homerun.

In game two, Kelley took the loss. Willis also pitched in the game. Jones led with two hits including a homerun.
