Kaleb Higgins named MACCC Player of the Week
Holmes Community College sophomore guard Kaleb Higgins has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his play last week vs. East Mississippi and Northeast Mississippi.
In two games, Higgins played 62 minutes and scored 49 points in two games including 27 in the win over Northeast and 22 in the win over East Mississippi in Scooba. He shot 50 percent from the floor (16-of-32), 50 percent from the three-point line (7-of-14) and 100 percent from the free throw line (10-of-10). He pulled in 16 rebounds, had 10 assists and one steal in the two games.
On the season, he is averaging 19.9 points per game along with 4.7 rebounds and assists and 1.1 steals per game.
Higgins and the Bulldogs will be playing Gulf Coast on Thursday night in Goodman in the Region XXIII Tournament.
He will now be considered for the NJCAA honors which will be announced tomorrow.
