GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs will go into the MACJC State Basketball Tournament as the North's No. 2 seed and will face the South Division No. 3 seed Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs.
Holmes finished the season at 20-3 overall and 10-2 in the North Division while Gulf Coast finished 16-7 overall and 8-5 in the South Division. Holmes is led in scoring by sophomore guard Trevais Spencer, who is averaging 14.1 points per game. Sophomore guard Mikkel Norment is averaging 10.1 points per game and freshman forward Javon Franklin is averaging 10 points per game. As a team, the Bulldogs are averaging 79.9 points per game and are shooting 48.6 percent from the floor, 32.9 percent from three-point range and 66.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Gulf Coast is led by freshman forward Dedoch Chan, who is averaging 17.7 points per game. Freshman guard LaRaymond Spivery is averaging 14.6 points per game while sophomore guard Abdul Dial is averaging 10.8 points per game. As a team, Gulf Coast is averaging 79.7 points per game and are shooting 46.2 percent from the floor, 30.8 percent from the three-point line and 68.4 percent from the free-throw line.
