GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College held an eight point lead at halfitme and went on to defeat the Itawamba Community College Indians, 75-60.
With the win, the Bulldogs improved to 11-9 overall and 3-6 in the North Division. Holmes will play Northeast on Monday night in Booneville and then will host Northwest on Thursday night. The Bulldogs still have 6:19 left of the division game at Scooba left with East Mississippi. It still hasn't been decided if the remainder of the game will be made up yet.
The Bulldogs led 37-29 at halftime and then outscored Itawamba down the stretch 38-31 to pull out the win. Travis Johnson led the Bulldogs with 17 points while Dayshawn Watkins had 15, Tamarico Wilson had 13 and Marcus Washington had 11. Wilson led the Bulldogs with eight rebounds while Washington had six.
