Bio

New Orleans native Marcel Andry has been named the defensive line coach at Holmes Community College.

Andry coached three seasons at Nicholls State University before coming to Holmes. In 2018, he served as a student assistant coach. In 2019-20 and 20-21, he was the head defensive line coach.

During his time there, the Colonel defense allowed only 105.4 rushing yards per game and finished seventh in the nation in tackles for loss and 12th in sacks. Andry coached Sully Laiche, who was the Southland Conference MVP and a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award.

Andry started his collegiate playing career in 2015 at East Mississippi Community College before joining the Colonels in '16. In his senior season at Nicholls, he totaled 32 tackles with 6.5 for loss and ranked eighth in the Southland with 5.5 sacks. He posted a career game in the win over HBU with six tackles and a safety.

He played high school at St. Augustine, where he was all-state honorable mention for the Purple Knights.

Andry received his bachelor's from Nicholls in December of 2018.
