Bulldogs knock off Tigers; move to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the North
MADISON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs improved to 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the North Division after picking up a 34-31 win over the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers here Thursday at Madison Central High School.

The Bulldogs took an early 7-0 lead when K.D. Rancifer caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Philip Short with 9:15 left in the first. Will Carter's extra point was good.
The Tigers answered the score with 4:28 left in the first on a rushing touchdown and tied the game with the extra point.
Northeast went up 14-7 with 14:56 left in the second quarter on a rushing touchdown and extra point. They added a field goal minutes later to lead 17-7 with 12:08 to go in the second.
Holmes got a 23-yard field goal from Luke Moffett with 6:56 in the second quarter to make it 17-10 Northeast.
The Bulldogs tied the game at 17 when J.J. Grant broke loose on a 27-yard run and Carter added the extra point with 3:12 left in the second.
The Bulldogs went up 24-17 when A.J. Davis IV returned a punt 90 yards for a touchdown. Carter's extra point was good with 1:54 left in the second.
Northeast tied the game at 24 when they scored on a passing touchdown late in the half with 17 seconds left, and the PAT was good.
Holmes went up 27-24 with 4:21 left in the third when Moffett connected on a 28-yard field goal.
The Bulldogs' final score came with 6:59 left in the fourth when NjJal Johnson connected with Kerrick Ross from 17 yards out. Cartrer's extra point made it 34-24.
Northeast's final score came with 3:05 left in the game on a rushing touchdown. The extra point was good.
Johnson finished the game 28-of-36 for 224 yards. Davis had 10 catches for 106 yards.
Reid Pulliam finished with 11 tackles in the game including one sack and one tackle for loss. Breon Jordan, Commondre Cole, Laterrance Cassels, Chris Walley and Ja'Nyus Morgan each had one tackle for loss while Cassels and Morgan added a sack. Jodie Williams had one interception return for 29 yards.
