Jeff Koonz held first coaching show in Ridgeland Tuesday night

RIDGELAND --- Holmes Community College Head Football Coach Jeff Koonz held his first Jeff Koonz Coaches Show last night at Sombra Mexican Kitchen here Tuesday night.

Coach Koonz and Jay White discussed the upcoming season and changes made to the coaching staff. Koonz also presented his weekly awards to outstanding players, which in include Jevante' McAdory, who received the "Yard Dog" award given to the toughest Bulldog player, Jamario Benson, who received the Offensive Award and Antreon Bennett, who received the Defensive Award.

Also interviewed was Chief Jimmy Houston, who is now teaching in the Criminal Justice Program on the Ridgeland Campus. He was introduced by Ridgeland Campus Academic Dean Joye Jones.

A nice crowd was on hand to hear the first show, and the Holmes Community College Cheerleaders entertained the onlookers along with patrons in the restaurant where they posed for pictures and even sang Happy Birthday to one lucky restaurant patron.
