Bulldogs sweep Lions; secure a berth in Region Tournament play

SCOOBA --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs swept the East Mississippi Community College Lions winning 15-4 and 7-2 in game two securing a spot in next week's Region 23 Tournament.

With the wins, the Bulldogs ended the regular season 33-18 and 14-14 in the MACCC.

In game one, Holton Hartzog got the start and went four innings. He gave up three runs on three hits with six walks and six strikeouts. Vince Glorioso pitched the final four and picked up the win. He gave up one run on four hits with two strikeouts and one walk.

Nicolas Schwing and Landon Wallace led the Bulldogs with three hits each. Amari Conley, Xavier Myles, Sam Roy and Jacob Lott each added two hits with Conley having a homerun and  double while Lott had a triple and Roy added a double.

John Paul Buckner started game two and picked up the win. He went six innings and gave up two runs on three hits with six strikeouts and seven walks. Josh Fleming pitched the final inning and had two strikeouts.

Will McClure led the Bulldogs with two hits including a two-run homerun and a triple. Conley added a solo homerun while Lott added a double.
