Bulldogs fall in DH to Meridian
VICKSBURG --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell twice here to the Meridian Community College Eagles, 15-3 and 6-1.
Holmes will travel to Itawamba on Tuesday for a 3/6 p.m. MACCC doubleheader.
In game one, Matt Koch got the start and suffered the loss. He went three innings and gave up seven runs on two hits with one strikeout and four walks. Jake McKay and Justin Jenkins also pitched in the contest. Abbott Hankins, Reece Smith and Evan Scott each led the Bulldogs with two hits with Smith adding a double.
In game two, Brody Wilkins got the start and suffered the loss. He went 6 1/3 innings and gave up six runs on nine hits with four strikeouts and three walks. Eric Gibbs also threw in the game. Cole Drake and Scott each had a hit in game two.
Against East Mississippi on Wednesday in Vicksburg, the Bulldogs fell 11-7 in game one and won 4-3 in game two.
In game one, Cordarius Brown got the start and suffered the loss. He went two innings and gave up eight runs on seven hits with one strikeout and three walks. Heath McBride went seven innings and gave up three runs on six hits with two strikeout and two walks. Hankins and Koch each had two hits with Koch and Scott each adding a double.
In game two, Blayze Boyd got the start and went one inning. Jake McKay then went two innings and picked up the win. He had four strikeouts and one walk and gave up two hits. Gibbs, Jackson Dollar, Jenkins and Hankins also pitched in the game with Hankins picking up the save.
Against Northeast on Monday, the Bulldogs fell 3-2 and 19-4.
In game one, Jaden Clinton went seven innings and got a no decision. He gave up two hits with three strikeouts and four walks. Cordarius Brown suffered the loss. He went one inning and gave up two runs on three hits while Jackson Dollar went one inning and gave up one run on two hits. Koch added a double.
In game two, Will Cook got the start and suffered the loss. He went 3 2/3 innings and gave up five runs on four hits with two strikeouts and three walks. McBride and Cason Jones also pitched in the game. Hayden Beall and Carson Buckner each had two hits with each adding a double.
