Bulldogs split with Eagles falling 9-8 and winning 4-0

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs opened MACCC play here Friday with a doubleheader split with Hinds Community College falling 9-8 in 11 innings in game one and winning game two, 4-0.

Holmes will play Coahoma on Wednesday at 12/3 p.m. in MACCC action.

In game one, Keegan Cormier got the start and went six innings. He gave up two runs on five hits with five strikeouts and three walks. Will Cook went 1 1/3 innings and gave up six runs on seven hits. Jake McKay went 3 2/3 innings and suffered the loss. He gave up one run on two hits with two strikeouts and three walks.

Cole Drake and Evan Scott each had two hits. Kenneth Moore added a two-run homerun.

In game two, Matthew Kock went seven innings and gave six hits with nine strikeouts and one walk. Cole Drake had three hits including a double. Ethan Parmegiani added a double.

Southeastern Community College 

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell here twice to Southeastern Community College 11-1 and 16-3 on March 4.

In game one, Brody Wilkins got the start and suffered the loss. He went six innings and gave up six runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Heath McBride went 1/3 of an inning and gave up three runs on three hits. Jake McKay went 2/3 of an inning and gave up one hit with a walk. Cason Jones went 2/3 of an inning sand gave up one run with one strikeout and two walks. Justin Jenkins went 1 1/3 innings and gave up one run with one walk.

Abbott Hankins led the Bulldogs with three hits while Carson Buckner and Reese Smith each had two hits. Buckner had two doubles while Hankins and Smith each had one double.

In game two, Matthew Koch got the start. He gave up six runs on three this with two walks and suffered the loss. Will Cook went 1 1/3 innings and gave up six runs on six hits with three strikeouts and one walk. Eric Gibbs went 2 2/3 innings and gave up four runs on two hits with two strikeouts and two walks while Jackson Dollar went one inning.

Jase Grantham led the Bulldogs with two hit including a double.

Millsaps JV

JACKSON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs dropped two heartbreakers here on Monday, Feb. 28 falling 6-5 and 3-2 to Millsaps JV.

In game one, Eric Gibbs got the start and went four innings giving up two runs on three hits with two strikeouts and three walks. Cameron Pilgrim went 1 1/3 innings and gave up two runs on two hits with two strikeouts and two walks. Jackson Dollar went 2/3 of an inning and gave up one hit. Abbott Hankins suffered the loss giving up two runs on four hits.

Carson Buckner, Hankins and Hayden Beall each had two hits with Buckner and Beall each having a double.

In game two, Cordarius Brown went 5 1/3 innings and gave up two runs on three hits with six strikeouts and one walk. Will Cook went 2/3 of an inning and suffered the loss. He gave up one run on one hit with one strikeout and one walk.

Beall and Ethan Parmegiani each had one hit in the game.

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs split here with Lake Land College on Feb. 25 winning 3-2 and falling 4-1.

In game one, Keegan Cormier got the start. He went seven innings and gave up two runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and two walks. Will Cook picked up the win in two innings of work. He gave up three hits and had three strikeouts and one walk.

Carson Buckner and Reese Smith each had two hits with Buckner adding a homerun.

In game two, Brody Wilkins got the start and went six innings suffering the loss. He gave up four runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and two walks. Jackson Dollar went one inning.

Buckner, Kenneth Moore and Tyler Starnes each had one hit.

South Arkansas Community College 

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell here twice to South Arkansas Community College on Saturday, Feb. 19 falling 4-2 and 9-5.

In game one, Keegan Cormier got the start in game one and went five innings giving up three runs on five hits with 10 strikeouts and three walks. Will Cook went one inning and gave up one run on one hit.

Hayden Beall had a double in the contest.

In game two, Matthew Koch got the start and went four innings. He gave up three runs on five hits with two strikeouts and two walks. Cameron Pilgrim went one inning and gave up four runs on two hits with one walk. Jackson Dollar went two innings and gave up two runs on two hits with one strikeout.

Carson Buckner led the Bulldogs with two hits including a double. Reese Smith and Abbott Hankins added a double.
