Bulldogs pick up wins over Co-Lin and Miss. Delta

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs picked up two wins here yesterday, a 3-1 win over Copiah-Lincoln Community College and a 15-7 win over Mississippi Delta Community College.

Holmes returns to action on Saturday at 1/4 p.m. vs. South Arkansas Community College in Goodman.

Versus Co-Lin, Brody Wilkins got the start and picked up the win. He went five innings and gave up one run on four hits with two strikeouts. Will Cook went two innings and picked up the save.

Parker Knight, Hayden Beall, Matthew Koch and Ethan Parmegiani each had one hit.

Versus Delta, Eric Gibbs got the start and went three innings. He gave up four runs on three hits with three strikeouts and two walks. Cordarius Brown came in the game in the fourth and went two innings and gave up one run on two hits with two strikeouts and one walk and picked up the win. Heath McBride and Abbott Hankins also pitched an inning in the game. McBride gave up two runs on three hits with one strikeout while Hankins had one strikeout.

Carson Buckner and Hankins each had three hits vs. Delta. Hankins had a three-run homerun and a double while Buckner had a solo homerun and a double. Evan Scott and Parker Knight each had two hits with Scott adding a triple. Beall added a double.

On Friday, the Bulldogs played in Millington, Tenn. vs. Dyersburg State and Lake Michigan. Holmes fell to Dyersburg, 9-0, and Lake Michigan, 2-1.

Kenneth Moore, Parmegiani, Hankins and Scott each had a hit vs. Dyersburg. Keegan Cormier suffered the loss in 4 2/3 innings of work. Jaden Clinton and Jake McKay also pitched in the game.

In game two vs. Lake Michigan, Koch went five innings and gave up two runs on five hits with six strikeouts and three walks. Cook also pitched in the game and gave up one hit.  Moore, Reese Smith, Scott, Hankins and Ryan Davis each had a hit.
