Gulf Coast takes two from Holmes, 14-5 and 6-3
GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell twice here Saturday to the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs, 14-5 and 6-3.
Holmes is scheduled to play Itawamba on Wednesday at 2/5 p.m.
In game one, Dillon Spears suffered the loss. He went 2 1/3 innings and gave up four runs on four hits with one strikeout and four walks. Brody Wilkins, Cade Johnson and Jake McKay also pitched in the game.
Austin Telano led the Bulldogs with two hits. Abbott Hankins had a double in the game.
In game two, Matthew Koch got the start and suffered the loss. He went 6 1/3 innings and gave up six runs seven hits with five strikeouts and four walks. Will Cook went 2/3 of an inning and gave up three hits and no runs.
Alex Frillman had a solo homerun in game two.
