Bulldogs split with Bears

SUMMIT--- The Holmes Community College split two games here Saturday with Southwest Mississippi Community College winning 10-9 in game one and falling 1-0 in game two.

Holmes will play Northwest Mississippi Community College on Wednesday in Goodman at 2/5 p.m.

In game one, Dillon Spears got the start. He went 3 1/3 innings and gave up five runs on six hits with one strikeout and three walks. Parker Wood went one inning and gave up three runs on three hits with one walk and one strikeout while Hayden Bosarge got the win. He went 4 2/3 innings and gave up one run on four hits with three strikeouts and two walks.

Jase Grantham led the Bulldogs with four hits while Austin Telano and Ethan Parmegiani each had three hits. Kenneth Moore and Darian Duhon each had two hits with Moore adding a three-run homerun. Hayden Beall had a solo homerun while Abbott Hankins added a double.

In game two, Matthew Koch went six innings and gave up one run on three hits with nine strikeouts and one walk.

Moore led the Bulldogs with two hits with both being doubles.
