Bulldogs split with Hinds to open MACCC play

RAYMOND --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs split two games here Saturday falling 13-3 in game one and winning 8-6 in game two.

The Bulldogs, 1-1 in the MACCC and 3-5 overall, are scheduled to play Northeast in Booneville on Tuesday at 3/6 p.m.

In game one, Matthew Koch got the start. He went 4 2/3 innings. He gave up 10 runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Heath McBride went 1 1/3 innings and gave up three runs on four hits with one strikeout.

Darian Duhon had a three-run homerun for the Bulldogs.

In game two, Brody Wilkins got the start and went two innings. He gave up one run on two hits with one strikeout and one walk. Parker Wood relieved Wilkins in the third and got the win. He gave up four runs on three hits with three strikeouts and two walks. Cade Johnson went one inning and gave up one run on one hit with one strikeout and one walk while Alex Frillman went the final inning and had two strikeouts.

Abbott Hankins, Ethan Parmegiani, Frillman and Duhon each had two hits. Frillman and Austin Telano added a double.
