Guzman, Richardson named Players of the Week

GOODMAN --- Holmes Community College sophomore defender Christina Guzman on the women's soccer team and freshman quarterback Chase Richardson on the football team have been named Holmes Community College Players of the Week following their play last week.

Guzman, a Florence product from Florence, scored two goals and had an assist last week for the No. 4 Lady Bulldogs. Holmes defeated East Central, 7-0, on Tuesday before falling to No. 1 Northwest, 3-2, on Friday. The Lady Bulldogs will host Co-Lin on Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Richardson, a Winona product from Winona, accounted four four scores last week vs. Miss. Delta. He threw for three and ran another in. No. 8 Holmes, now 6-0 on the season, defeated Miss. Delta, 52-21, and will travel to Itawamba Thursday at 7 p.m.
