Lady Bulldogs begin postseason practice

Eight of the 12 Holmes Community College Lady Bulldog basketball players got a taste of the postseason last year as the team finished 13-9 overall and participated in both the MACJC State Tournament at Co-Lin and the Region XXIII Tournament at Mississippi College.

The Lady Bulldogs fell to Co-Lin, 65-41, in the first round of the region tournament while falling to Jones, 89-66, in the state tournament.

Returners include: Kierra Gilmore (5'4, guard, McAdams High School), Dierra Gilmore (5'4, guard, McAdams High School), Jacquonna Young (5'1, guard, Blytheville High School, Ark.), Kierra Anderson (6'1, forward, Yazoo County High School), Louise Collins (5'9, forward, Yazoo County High School), Kia Funchess (5'9, forward, Crystal Springs High School), Amber Clay (6'1, forward, Blytheville High School, Ark.) and Cierra Anderson (6'2, forward, Yazoo County High School).
Newcomers include: Marquita Tidwell (5'5, guard, Grenada High School), Rochelle Mason (5'8, guard/forward, Madison Central High School), Jessica Miles (5'11, forward, Kosciusko High School) and Sky Archie (5'7, guard, Grenada High School).
