During six weeks of the 2011-12 season, members of the Holmes Community College Bulldog Soccer team took part in the TOPS Soccer Program at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland by volunteering on Saturday mornings.

TOPS Soccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a national program designed and administered by U.S. Youth Soccer. The program is a community-based training and team placement program for children and adults with special needs. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to anyone, who has a mental or physical disability.

Bulldog Head Coach Matt Convertino said his team jumped at a chance to work with TOPS Soccer.

"It is truly a worthy cause and I am proud that our players chose to offer up some of the talents Christ has blessed them with to help others."

South Madison County Soccer Organization is known as having one of the largest TOPS Soccer Jamborees in the country as well as the first visually impaired TOPS Soccer program in the country.
