GOODMAN --- Holmes Community College freshman point guard Carmesha Nalls hit the game-winning three-pointer as the horn sounded Thursday to lift the Lady Bulldogs to the 79-76 win over the Northeast Mississippi Community College Lady Tigers.
With the win, the Lady Bulldogs went to 5-11 overall and 2-3 in the North Division. Holmes travels to Northwest on Monday night to play the Lady Rangers at 5 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs inbounded the ball from the opposite side of the floor to Nalls who dribbled toward the other sideline, crossed half court and heaved the ball just before time expired banking the shot in for the huge division win.
Holmes led 44-39 at halftime, and Northeast outscored the Lady Bulldogs in the second half 37-35 but the Lady Bulldgos were able to pull out the win. Nalls finished the game with 33 points. She hit four three pointers in the game.Tayanna Purnell had 12 points and Taylor Johnson added 11. Laricka Morgan led the Lady Bulldogs in rebounds with 11 while Purnell had 10.
