Lady Bulldogs play Pearl River Lady Wildcats in the opening round of the Region XXIII Tournament Wednesday

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs found out Friday that they would be playing Pearl River in the first round of the Region XXIII Tournament on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at Mississippi College.

The Lady Bulldogs head into the Region Tournament with a 16-6 record. The Lady Bulldogs fell to the Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats in the opening round of the MACJC State Tournament Tuesday.

The Lady Bulldogs played Pearl River twice this season, winning 66-58 in Goodman and falling 65-57 in Poplarville.

Other teams in the women's bracket include: Itawamba vs. Coahoma, 6 p.m., Wednesday; Co-Lin vs. Baton Rouge, La., 3 p.m., Wednesday; and Meridian vs. Jones, 1 p.m., Wednesday. The Lady Bulldogs will play the winner of Itawamba-Coahoma at 3 p.m. Friday if they get past the Lady Wildcats Wednesday.
