Lady Bulldogs take two games from Delta; move to 16-24 overall and 12-8 in the North
GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs picked up two North Division wins here Wednesday afternoon over the Mississippi Delta Community College Lady Trojans, 2-1 and 8-0.
With the wins, the Lady Bulldogs went to 16-24 overall and 12-8 in the North Division. Holmes travels to Coahoma on Saturday for a noon doubleheader. The Lady Bulldogs return home for their final home doubleheader with East Mississippi at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Kelsey Marter picked up the win in game one going seven innings. She gave up one run on seven hits striking out three. Victoria Hunt and Alecia McDaniel each had two hits with McDaniel having a double. Charneissa Gordon got the game winning hit in the sixth inning and two RBI as she scored Hunt and Keana Wash, who also singled.
Katie Johnston got the win in game two going seven innings. She gave up no runs on one hit striking out two. Katherine Pennington had three hits for the Lady Bulldogs while Wash and Hicks each had two hits with Hicks having two RBI in the first. Gordon had one hit with two RBI while Sarah Bowles had a hit and RBI.
