Holmes, Meridian split; Season series tied at 2-2
MERIDIAN --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs split two games here Tuesday with the Meridian Community College Lady Eagles. Holmes won game one, 5-2, and lost, 2-1 in game two.
Kelsey Marter picked up the win in game one. Marter threw five innings giving up two runs on four hits and walking one. Lauren Tharp led the Lady Bulldogs with two hits while Michelle Gregory, Charneissa Gordon, Samantha Meadows and Katherine Pennington each had one hit.
Katie Johnston suffered the loss in relief of Kelsey Rogers. Johnston pitched 3 2/3 innings and gave up two runs on five hits striking out two. Keana Wash picked up the only hit in game two.
