Lady Bulldogs fall to Bossier, La.; defeat Hinds

RAYMOND --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs went to 2-6 on the season with a  6-4 loss to Bossier, La. and a 5-3 win over the Hinds Community College Lady Eagles here Saturday.

The Lady Bulldogs will host Jones County Junior College in a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

In game one versus Bossier, Katie Johnston took the loss pitching four innings giving up six runs on nine hits. Victoria Hunt led the Lady Bulldogs with three hits including a double and a RBI. Kaitlyn Hicks and Samantha Meadows each had two hits with Hicks having a double and a RBI. Keana Wash, Michelle Gregory, Katherine Pennington and Kelsey Rogers each had a hit with Pennington's hit being a double and Gregory added a RBI.

In game two, Kelsey Marter picked up the win pitching seven innings striking out four and giving up three runs on seven hits. Charneissa Gordon and Pennington each had two hits with Gordon adding a RBI. Wash, Gregory, Hicks, Hunt, Lauren Tharp and Amberly Young each added a hit and Wash, Young and Gregory each had a RBI.
