Bulldogs, Indians split; Bulldogs win game one, 8-2, while the Indians win game two, 3-0

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs had 13 hits in game one to pick up an 8-2 but needed some of those hits in game two as the Indians won game two, 3-0, as the Bulldogs only got two hits in the game.

The Bulldogs went to 17-19 and 7-9 in the North Division. The Bulldogs travel to East Mississippi tomorrow (Wednesday) for a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. Holmes returns home on Saturday in a doubleheader against Northwest Mississippi Community College at 1 p.m.

Brennan Marque got the start in game one and pitched into the fourth inning and left when the game was tied at two. Jason Hursey came into the game at that point and went the remaining 3 2/3 innings. Josh Crowder and Cole McBride each had three hits with McBride having a double. Jaylan Bledsoe, Steven Blanchard and Jordan Taylor each had two hits with Bledsoe adding a double. LaDerick Williams had one hit.

In game two, Steven Blanchard went the distance and picked up the loss. Williams had the Bulldogs only two hits of the game.
