Bulldogs, Tigers split; season series tied at 2-2

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs came back from a disappointing 12-4 loss in game one with a 6-5 extra inning win in game two to even the season series at 2-2.

The Bulldogs went to 16-15 overall and 6-6 in the North Division. Holmes travels to Mississippi Delta on Tuesday before playing Itawamba on Friday in a doubleheader in Goodman and Hinds on Saturday in a doubleheader at Smith Wills Stadium in Jackson.

In game one, Steven Blanchard suffered the loss. Jaylan Bledsoe and LaDerick Williams each led the Bulldogs with two hits with Bledsoe adding a double. Josh Crowder, Blanchard, and Tal Tucker each added a hit.

In game two, Trey Goff came in the game in relief of Brennan Marque and picked up the win in the eighth inning. Bledsoe walked and later scored in the eighth inning when Jordan Taylor hit a game winning single. Taylor finished with two hits including a double and Cole McBride added two singles. Blanchard and Tucker each doubled while Crowder and Williams each singled.
