Delta takes two games from Holmes, 1-0 and 6-1

GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs fell to 9-10 overall and 1-3 in the North Division here Saturday after falling to Mississippi Delta, 1-0 and 6-1.

In game one, Brennan Marque suffered the loss. He pitched 1 2/3 innings and gave up a run in the top of the seventh. Steven Blanchard started the game and went 5 1/3 innings and led the Bulldogs with two hits. Jordan Taylor, David McAdory, Cole McBride and Ta Tucker each had a hit.

In game two, Jason Hursey suffered the loss in 2 1/3 innings of work. LaDerick Williams, Taylor, Tucker and McBride each had a hit in game two.

Holmes travels to Spring Hill College in Mobile on Monday in a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. before traveling to Jackson on Tuesday to play Bossier Parish, La. at 3 p.m. and Hinds at 6 p.m. Holmes returns to North Division play on Saturday against East Mississippi in a doubleheader. The first game begins at 3 p.m.
