Samonski, Richardson named Holmes CC's Players of the Week

GOODMAN --- Holmes Community College freshman forward Brooklynn Samonski on the women's soccer team and freshman quarterback Chase Richardson on the football team have been named Holmes Community College Players of the Week following their play last week.

Samonski, a Nottingham product from Nottingham, N.J., scored two goals in Friday's 5-1 win over Southern Union State Community College in Ridgeland.

Richardson, a Winona product from Winona, finished Thursday's game with Coahoma 29-of-51 for 362 yards and four touchdowns. He had 12 carries for 36 yards. Holmes won 42-23 and will travel to Booneville to play Northeast at 6:30 p.m. Thursday night.
