Russ, Ballard named Players of the Week

Jaycelyn Russ and Jalen Ballard have been named Players of the Week for their play last week.

Russ, a sophomore forward from Madison, had three shots and three shots on goal and two goals in No. 3 Holmes' 4-1 win over Co-Lin Friday. Ballard, a freshman placekicker from Brandon, hit the game-winning field goal as time expired to give Holmes the 26-24 win over Itawamba Thursday in Goodman. He was 4-of-5 on field goals and 2-of-2 on extra points. He had six kickoffs for 348 averaging 58 yards per kick with one touchback.
