Phillips and Smith named POTW

Holmes Community College's Kristen Phillips and Deion Smith have been named Holmes' Players of the Week for their play last week.

Phillips, freshman forward from Collinsville (West Lauderdale), scored four goals in two matches over the weekend. She had a hat trick vs. College of Lake County on Saturday and added a goal in Sunday's win over No. 16 Southwestern Illinois.

Smith, a sophomore wide receiver from Jackson (Jackson Academy), had four catches for 147 yards and one touchdown of 99 yards in Holmes' 31-0 win over Pearl River on Thursday.

Both players have been nominated for MACCC Player of the Week honors.
