Through the first 10 games of the season, the Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs are holding a 7-3 record and a 1-1 North Division record.
The Lady Bulldogs picked up wins over Baton Rouge, LSU-Eunice, Pearl River, Hinds, Southern-Shreveport, Coahoma and Southwest Tenn. and fell to Copiah-Lincoln, Jones and Northwest.
The team returns from Christmas break on Friday and will begin preparation for the next regular season game on Tuesday, Jan. 5 versus Southern-Shreveport. The first home game of second semester is Jan. 7 versus Hinds at 6 p.m. Division play begins on Jan. 11 at home versus Itawamba Community College.
Sophomore guard Aja Williams leads the Lady Bulldogs in scoring with 20.5 points per game while Tiffany Jones has a 14.3 per game average, Minyone Hill has a 10.9 per game average and Kawaii Perry has a 9 points per game. Williams is shooting 52.5 percent from the floor, 25.5 percent from three-point range and 54.2 percent from the free throw line. Jones is shooting 45.6 percent from the floor and 53.1 percent from the free throw line while Hill is shooting 32.6 percent from the floor, 36.4 percent from the three-point line and 54 percent from the free throw line. Perry is shooting 41.8 percent from the floor, 24 percent from the three-point line and 75 percent from the free throw line.
Jones leads the Lady Bulldogs with 110 rebounds or an 11 per game average. Williams averages 5.8 rebounds per game while Cortrice Golden is bringing in 5.4 rebounds per game and Perry and Laricka Morgan are bringing in 5.3 rebounds per game. Hill leads in assists with 5.4 assists per game and Perry leads in steals with 2.4 per game.
As a team, the Lady Bulldogs are shooting 43.3 percent from the floor, 23.8 percent from the three-point line and 57.7 percent from the free throw line. Holmes is averaging 75.8 points per game and giving up 49.1 points per game. The Lady Bulldogs bring in 44.9 rebounds per game and is averaging 17 assists and 11.4 steals per game.
