Eleven Bulldog athletes recognized by the NJCAA

Eleven Holmes Community College athletes were recently recognized by the National Junior College Athletic Association as Athletes of Distinction for their academic success during the 2012-13 school year.

Three members of the football team, three members of the softball team, two members of the baseball team, two members of the women's tennis team and one member of the women's basketball team received these honors. Four received the Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence while the remaining seven received Superior Academic Achievement Awards.

Football honors went to David Carter, 4.0 GPA, Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence, Alex Hawkins, 4.0 GPA, Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence and Dudley Moore, 3.88 GPA, Superior Academic Achievement. Softball honors went to Lauren Tharp, 4.0 GPA, Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence,  Kelsey Marter, 3.84 GPA, Superior Academic Achievement and Victoria Hunt, 3.81 GPA, Superior Academic Achievement. Baseball honors went to Jordan Taylor, 3.9 GPA, Superior Academic Achievement and Coy Sorensen, 3.87 GPA, Superior Academic Achievement. Women's tennis honors went to Callie Swinney, 3.88 GPA, Superior Academic Achievement and Rebecca Shields, 3.85 GPA, Superior Academic Achievement. Jessica Miles received the Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence for her 4.0 GPA.
