Bio

A former student and softball player at Holmes, Mandy Clark-Walker returns to her alma mater to assume the position of assistant softball coach. Walker is entering her ninth season for Holmes Community College.  Walker joins Ricky Casey’s staff after spending five seasons as a head coach at the high school level, where she had a .500 record.

Walker’s duties include coaching the infielders, assisting with the offense, overseeing the team managers, summer camp coordination, and maintaining team statistics as well as opponents’ scouting reports. She also assists in administrative duties, such as recruiting, scheduling, and monitoring the academic progress of the softball players. Other responsibilities for Walker include keeping in touch with softball alumni for the purpose of organizing the annual softball alumni game during homecoming weekend.

Academically for the college, Mandy teaches classes under the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation department. She specializes in teaching the First Aid and CPR/AED class after receiving her instructor certification from the American Red Cross and American Heart Association. Mandy also teaches online courses for the Holmes e-Learning department. As well as being a teacher, Mandy is responsible for being an academic advisor in the HPR program.

Walker earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from the University of Mississippi in 2001 and a Master of Sports Science degree in Sports Coaching from the United States Sports Academy in 2006.

Mandy is married to Josh Walker, and they reside in Kosciusko with their children, Jayden, Piper, and Lizzie.
