Lady Bulldogs split with Meridian; fall twice to East Central

DECATUR --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs took the Lady Warriors to extra innings here Monday before falling 9-8 in game one and fell 8-4 in game two.

In game one, Kelsey Rogers suffered the loss going 1 1/3 innings givng up four runs on three hits. Kelsey Marter started the game and went six innings giving up four runs on five hits striking out six and walking four. Karina Brown, Michelle Gregory, Charneissa Gordon and Lauren Tharp each had two hits with Gregory addiing a homerun and a double while Karina Brown had a triple. Samantha Meadows, Kaitlyn Hicks, Keana Wash and Alecia McDaniel had a hit each with Meadows adding a homerun and McDaniel adding a double.

In game two, Katie Johnston suffered the loss giving up eight runs on eight hits striking out two and walking three. Gordon and Victoria Hunt each had two hits with Hunt adding a double. Meadows, Wash and Hicks each had one hit.

Against Meridian on Friday, the Lady Bulldogs won game one 5-2 and fell 3-2 in the nightcap.

In game one, Marter picked up the win throwning the complete game. She gave up two runs on three hits and struck out five. Gordon led the Lady Bulldogs with two hits inlcuding a double while Gregory, Katherine Pennington, Kaitlyn Hicks, Karina Brown and Lauren Tharp each had one hit with Hicks' hit being a homerun and Gregory adding a double.

In game two, Johnston suffered the loss giving up three runs on eight hits striking out five and walking one in seven innings. Meadows, Pennington and Wash each had a hit with Meadows' hit being a double.
