Lady Bulldogs season comes to an end with 1-0 and 5-1 losses to Lady Indians

FULTON --- The Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs came within one game of making the 2012 MACJC State Tournament here Friday. The Lady Bulldogs fell to the Lady Indians of Itawamba, 1-0 and 5-1, but the Lady Lions of East Mississippi split with Northwest Mississippi Community to secure the No. 4 seed from the North Division.

In game one, Kelsey Marter gave up five hits and one earned run while striking out three and walking one. Victoria Hunt led the Lady Bulldogs with two hits while L'Shanna Evans and Faith McCorkle each had one hit.

In game two, Ginny Mills took the loss after giving up two runs in the first inning on two hits, one strikeout and two walks. Marter pitched four innings giving up two runs on six hits striking out one and Allison Ray pitched one inning as well. Kaitlyn Doles hit a homerun for the Lady Bulldogs and Alecia McDaniel added a single.

The Lady Bulldogs ended up the season 13-31 and 11-13 in the North Division.
