Bulldogs end season with a 5-3 loss at Gulf Coast

PERKINSTON --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs' soccer season came to an end Friday here when the Bulldogs fell to Gulf Coast, 5-3.

The Bulldogs ended the season with a record of 3-9-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the North Division.

Gulf Coast led 1-0 in the 4th minute before Holmes' Jacob McNeely scored in the 11th minute to tie the game at one.

Gulf Coast then retook the lead in the 33rd minute before McNeely scored again on a Rolando Sanchez goal to tie the game at two in the 40th minute.

In the second half, Gulf Coast went up 3-2 in the 53rd minute before Jose Barcenas tied the game at three in the 54th minute.

Gulf Coast scored two more goals in the 73rd and 83rd minutes to pull out the 5-3 win.

In a game Tuesday at Itawamba, the Bulldogs fell 4-1. Itawamba led 2-1 at halftime. Barcenas scored the only goal of the day for the Bulldogs.
