SENATOBIA --- The Holmes Community College Bulldog soccer program clinched a MACJC playoff berth with a 2-0 win over the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers here Tuesday afternoon.
With the win, the Bulldogs went to 10-3 overall and 5-2 in the North Division with one division game to play against Hinds Community College on Tuesday. The Bulldogs are first in the division while Itawamba is 2-1-3, Hinds is 3-2-1 and East Central is 2-2-1. With a win at Hinds next week, the Bulldogs will clinch the championship and will play the South Division No. 2 seed in the opening round of the MACJC tournament.
Hunter Warren got the Bulldogs on the scoreboard in the first half on an assist from Ryan Hudson. Cameron Lomonaco added a goal in the second half on a James Cockrell assist to finish scoring for the Bulldogs.
On Friday against East Central, the Bulldogs won 2-0 on two goals from Jonathan Brown.
The Bulldogs host the Eagles of Meridian on Friday at 4 p.m. and travel to Hinds Community College on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
