GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs rebounded in North Division play with an 87-64 win over the Northeast Mississippi Community College Tigers here tonight.
With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 18-3 overall and 8-2 in the North Division. The Bulldogs round out the division schedule at Coahoma on Feb. 19 and at home with East Mississippi on Feb. 22.
The Bulldogs shot 53.1 percent from the floor (17-of-32) and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line (5-of-6) in the first half to jump out to a 42-22 lead over the Tigers. Holmes then outscored the Tigers, 45-42, in the second half for the win.
Trevais Spencer hit seven three-pointers and was 11-of-16 from the floor to lead the Bulldogs in scoring with 29 points. Jonah Simpson and Stanley Williams each had 11. Kassim Nicholson led the Bulldogs in rebounds with eight while Javon Franklin had seven while Kortez Wade and D'Michael Stribling each had six.
