GOODMAN --- The Holmes Community College Bulldogs will go into the MACJC State Basketball Tournament as the North's No. 2 seed and will face the South Division No 3 seed Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Bulldogs.
Holmes finished the season at 15-8 overall and 9-3 in the North Division while Gulf Coast finished 18-5 overall and 10-4 in the South Division. Holmes is led in scoring by freshman guard Mikkel Norment, who is averaging 13.6 points per game. Freshman guard Trevais Spencer is averaging 13.4 points per game while freshman forward Justin Johnson is averaging 11.6 points per game and freshman guard Keith Gilmore is averaging 10.3 points per game. As a team, the Bulldogs are averaging 75.7 points per game and are shooting 48.4 percent from the floor, 37.5 percent from three-point range and 68.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Gulf Coast is led by sophomore forward Davion Cole-Johnson, who is averaging 18.7 points per game. Sophomore guard Zach Parker is averaging 17.5 points per game while sophomore guard Winston Morgan is averaging 13.7 points per game and sophomore forward Tedrian Brisco is averaging 12 points per game. As a team, Gulf Coast is averaging 85.7 points per game and are shooting 48.4 percent from the floor, 40.3 percent from the three-point line and 68.6 percent from the free-throw line.
